2008 Timeline of Events

Installation of Officers:  District Deputy Angel Rivera officially presided the formality of installing the officers of this council.  after the formailites, dinner was served with wonderful background music.  everyone had a great time.  (C) Oct 2008

Sir Knight Tony Matteo went home to meet our Lord about 8:30 p.m. Oct 12th.  "I imagine he and Fanny are dancing together," as his daughter told me today. I sat with Tony Matteo's family and here is the funeral preparations.  The Vigil will be held at Gonzalez Funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday and the Mass will be celebrated by Fr Paddy at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Day Chapel.  A breakfast Reception to follow in our hall.  We hope you can join us to celebrate Tony's life and blessings to us for so may years.  Tony and wife Fanny moved to Tampa in 1988 Purchased M&P Costumes, 2 stores, Fanny made the costumes.  He was a Fourth Degree Knight.  Our Daily Communicant until 1-08, leading us in Music, belonged and cooked for the Men's Club, Took communion to the Nursing Home, and loved Dancing.  Eric Matos.

Knights of the Council volunteer their time Saturday morning to help with the Prayer Walk.  The Fishers of Men were in need of extra hands so we accepted the invitation. It’s a lot of hard work, but in the end this will be a focal point outside of St. Tim’s for years to come (C) Oct 2008

GK Dave Ellis stands with Daisy Cintron Director of Pre-School next to the donated special computer for the St. Tim’s Day Dare center.  Proceeds from our recent Golf Tournament went to purchasing this special PC for the Kids.  Daisy says the kids LOVE it!!! (C) Sept 2008
Day Care Computer

10th Annual Golf Tournament;  Our council along with St. Mary’s of the Grove council enjoyed another successful Golf Tournament.  More players and more hole sponsorship than ever before.  Proceeds from this event will be split amongst both councils. (C) June 2008

May 10th was our Mother’s Day Dinner Dance. Hosted by our worthy Grand Knight Gus Julia and Former District Deputy and current Faithful Navigator Walt Atzert. Dinner was provided by Outback Steakhouse and playing music was Fr. Eric and the True Blues Band. Disco Party lights was provided by djduane.com. A wonderful time was had by all.  (C) May 2008

Council Knights sponsor Youth Free Throw Challenge:  over 10 kids of the community showed up this year, (it gets better every year) Winners will progress on to the State Championship.  (C) Jan 2008
