The Dr. Gilbert Ortiz Council is located next to and works in union with St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lutz, Florida.

The Dr. Gilbert Ortiz Council was founded in 2004. In 2005 our council was awarded the McGivney Award and the Founders Award. We have earned the STAR Council Award several times. This Council was named after Dr. Gilbert Ortiz.   Dr. Gil, a long time parishioner of St. Timothy, served as an excellent example for all Knights in service to his family, church, and community. Dr. Gil’s long time desire and efforts to form a Knights of Columbus Council at St. Timothy came to fruition after his unfortunate passing. Members of this council provide a lasting tribute to this great man by working closely with St. Timothy Parish.    the 1st Grand Knight was Eric Matos.
